Hello, and welcome to our blog! We're glad you're here.
A few months ago, we started Hidden Door to invent new ways for kids and families to create stories with AI.
Our families love reading. We read to our kids every day, and they love reading by themselves. Over the past few months we've probably read everything in the house dozens of times (if not hundreds for certain favorites 😅).
We also love to play storytelling games! As a parent, there's nothing like seeing your child invent, pulling from their experiences to make something new and magical. And it's even more fun together, with friends and family.
It's a wonderful moment to be building with natural language computational tools. This technology has made huge leaps forward over the last few years, and we believe it is a natural fit for enhancing creative expression. At the same time, there's hard work ahead to make these capabilities safe and coherent.
In this newsletter, we'll be exploring narrative games and creativity, as well as how this technology works and what we're doing with it. We also will share some of our outtakes and funny moments. Stay tuned for some prototypes, opinions, and fun.
Building something new is always a challenge, especially in a time when we're isolated from our friends and professional communities. Thanks for lending us your support!
Lastly, we'd love to hear from you. Just drop us a note at firstname.lastname@example.org and let us know — What do you think? How does your family tell stories? What do you wish were true about that experience?
