Hello, adventurers!

With the release of GPT-4, it's been an exciting week for generative AI and those thinking about the potential and pitfalls of using large language models for co-creativity.

At Hidden Door, this is precisely our jam. We've spent the last three years building the technology, using capabilities like this, inside a powerful, controllable story game engine, to enable anyone to explore and expand their favorite fictional worlds, together with friends, through the magic of roleplay.

To give you a sense of what we mean, we're excited to share a sneak peek of our game! Our technology can take any work of fiction and turn it into a social roleplaying game. Here you'll see it applied to the Land of Oz, as imagined by L. Frank Baum.

Conjure

Your adventures always begin with conjuring, where you'll mix in possible characters, plots, or vibes 😎. It's like being part of an improv show, making suggestions for where things might end up.

Play

The heart of the game is roleplaying! As your character, you'll face unique opportunities, challenges, and choices. Just like in a live TTRPG, you can do practically anything, and the story will adapt. Consider the AI narrator's suggestions, or type whatever you want and see what happens 😅.

As you play, the world is populated around you with colorful characters, items, locations, and subplots that remain true to the source material but are generated just for you.
